Healing    Hope    Growth

Samaritan Health & Living Center

Our Covenant Congregations

The congregations listed below have entered into an agreement with the Samaritan Center so that the two organizations can share a common mission of Healing, Hope and Growth for the community. They represent our Partners in Mission and Ministry, some even going so far as to allow the Center to use space within their buildings free of charge so that we can offer "satellite offices" where clients can meet with their therapist in a location more convenient to where they live or work.

· To provide regular materials (newsletters, brochures, posters, bulletin inserts,  etc.) for use by the church to highlight the Center's presence

· To lead one seminar/workshop a year - assuming topic, timing, staff   availability, etc. can be worked out

· To give a brief annual presentation to the congregation during worship to increase awareness of the Center and to present a certificate of appreciation for partnership in ministry

· To make every effort to provide quick appointments for direct referral (typically in five business days or less)

· To have informal telephone consultations with pastors, if desired, for parish counseling concerns

· To arrange a meeting with all covenanting pastors and the Center's director twice annually

· To offer a unique counseling facility, an extension of the ministry of the church, to enhance pastoral care

· To maintain accreditation with The Samaritan Institute and the American Association of Pastoral Counselors

· To list the church as a Covenant Congregation in the Center's Annual Report   and other widely distributed Center publications

WHAT DOES THE SAMARITAN CENTER OFFER TO ITS COVENANT CONGREGATIONS?

· To actively promote the Center's services to congregants by using the Center's bulletin inserts, posters, brochures, etc.

· To host one workshop per year led by a Center staff member, given that arrangements of topic, timing, staff availability, etc. can be worked out

· To provide the opportunity at a Sunday worship service for a brief annual Samaritan presentation

· To refer parishioners to the Samaritan Center, when appropriate

· To endorse the Samaritan Center as an extension of the church's counseling  ministry

· To make a qualifying annual contribution

· To support and pray for the work of the Samaritan Center

WHAT DOES THE SAMARITAN CENTER ASK OF ITS COVENANT CONGREGATIONS?
